2021 Installed plant-based dye art exhibition: Flights of Fancy, with Nancy Goodman in collaboration with Central Arts with funding support from Alabama State Council on the Arts. The exhibition was preceded by plant-based dye workshops for children at Taylor Park, demonstrations and work in the community garden about growing plants to create dyes, and a workshop led by artist Doug Balous. Catering was provided by Pat Smith, master gardener, with plant-based food grown on her homestead.

The exhibition included photographs of the Kinetics Dance Company by Dollison and paintings of dancers by Morris. Opening night included improv and choreographed dance by Kinetics Dance Company.
2019 (Sept) Collaborated with photographers Walter Bower and Vincent Lawson to install: Black and White, Hate & Love: A Visual Story. The exhibition addressed themes of inherent bias & prejudice and included a panel discussion and a recitation of poetry by Huggy Bear.
2019 (March) Curated and Installed: Picture Your Story, an exhibition of photographs on loan from the Do Good Fund and local photographers with keynote speaker MM Pinky Bass. In conjunction with this, Karen also collaborated to host events throughout the month relating to storytelling: a quilting and storytelling workshop led by women from Gee’s Bend; a children’s story time with author Watt Key; a photography workshop with Lynn Henderson Oldshue and Vincent Lawson, and a monologue produced by Company 11
In 2019, Karen established a pop-up art & performance space in Mobile, Alabama, where she collaborated with a team of women artists to curate and install quarterly exhibitions.
2016-2020 Curated art for The Lost Garden, a community garden and public art space in a vacant lot in downtown Mobile, by collaborating with many local artists: painters, illustrators, musicians, and muralists to offer an engaging and educational space open to the public with special events during monthly LODA ArtWalk. Mobile Urban Growers, the Master Gardeners, Bee Keepers, and many others offered educational opportunities relating to sustainability and small farming.
